My Big Three

Research

My research starts with the goal in mind. I believe that any new technology you put out on the market should be fun, useful, and educational for the user. Therefore, my research is behavioral and user driven and serves to create and enhance products to educate and improve society. With multiple academic publications and a doctoral degree in hand, I have extensive experience in design thinking, behavioral and communication research.

Product

My biggest strength is my all-round product development experience. I’ve been deeply involved in creating mobile and web apps from scratch (10+ apps now and counting) and exposed to the full SDLC, from creating a strategic vision to executing it through product design and development, using primarily Sketch, Trello, Figma, InVision, Mattermost, Redmine, Webflow and Slack.

The premise of Powered by Action is simple yet bold: the services everybody needs are out there. It's just a matter of giving them access. Enter the PbA app suite. By giving nonprofits the ability to digitize their services to offer them virtually in learning communities and automated programs, the playing field is leveled, and barriers to entry are eliminated.

My highlights at PbA include:

- Growing the PbA ecosystem by over 15,000 users and 10+ large nonprofits.
- Maintaining the product roadmap from user feedback and internal dev meetings.

Connecting care through
caregivers and nonprofits.

ilume health is the answer to ever rising healthcare costs. The key to reducing these is to open up access to preventative healthcare programs to avoid the diseases that cause these costs in the first place. ilume health does so by opening up access to such programs so that caregivers can offer patients such targeted preventative care through the mobile app, in the comfort of their own home.

My highlights at ilume health include:
- Brand identity design, from digital to print.
- Development of the mobile app and website.
- Delineating the strategy for the company.

Urban Physical Therapy

2020

Branding, Marketing, Website

Brand Identity

My physical therapist asked me to create a brand for him that was highly different from existing brands out there, that focused on individual care, not "conveyor belt" physical therapy. I created "Urban Physical Therapy", which focuses on a holistic sense of care that doesnt' necessarily have to take place in a clinic. Therefore, the colors, the typeface, and the logo had to deviate significantly as most existing logos focus on the body, not the care that goes around it. The result was a dynamic logo that changes color and suggests that care is holistic, earthly and ongoing. My process was as follows.
- Research the brands out there, what they have in common, how they differentiate.
- Determine how to make the brand stand out, identity-wise.
- Propose logo, icons, typeface and hierarchy to client, iterate until satisfied.
- Upon confirmation, present brandbook and create website with HIPAA compliant client intake integration.
